I don't think he had sex WITH an 8-year old. I think he imposed sex TO the boy. I hate the word 'with'. To me, it implies two people who are WILLING to engage in it.

I know it's not good for karma to wish people bad things. Let's just say that I wish him no more, no less than what he wished for the boy. Let his karma go back to him.

Yes, it was a girl kidney. I wouldn't worry about it only being 12 years. It will be the worst 12 years of his life and or the end of his life courtesy of his fellow inmates once they find out what he did.

Onlyakid : I'm right with you there. I couldn't bring myself to read the article before I commented... The title of the post made me sooooo depressed. Sometimes, it seems like it's happening everywhere, all the time and il feels like there's never going to be an end to this.

Still 10 years is longer than his victims time on the earth.

Exactly... And his victim will be screwed up for his whole life, which may be a very long time, and odds are good that the perp has done/will do it again.

How about this for a sentence:
Let's say the kid lives till he's 75. Just to appease all of the softies out there, we split it 50/50 and give the guy mandatory time served of 37 years. If the kid commits suicide then we re-charge the guy with murder. And if the VICTIM has to serve any jail time due to "acting out" later in life, we tack THAT time onto the perp's mandatory time served as well.

Now there's a jail term I can sink my teeth into!
