does it seem like everytime you try to do something good for your self there seems to be a roadblock put up in your way.

Example today, I've been trying to become certified in a new career that I want to change to. Well first I have trouble, getting the motivation to study and I keep pushing my exam date back. Ok, finally I get to the point where I deciede I'm taking tommorrow (Saturday) no matter what and I'm just going to force myself to study. Well my boss calls me and needs me to work tommorow, not that its going to prevent me from doing it, but it just makes things harder. He hasn't had work for me in like a month or month in a half (and even then its very spotty) and of all the days he has to give me a last minute call it has to be tommorrow. I feel like the world is out to get me, to prevent me from doing what I want to do.

I think you and I are pretty similar from our posts. We both struggle with learning disabilities, we both struggle with procrastination.

I know how hard it is to sit down and get serious with school work. Yeah it's hard man. So many damn distractions. It's really testing my patient with myself.

The best thing I've learned for myself is to find a place to get and be quiet. Whether it be talking quietly outloud to go over my notes or sitting in my apartment with all distractions turned off, electronics (tv, cell phone, any other gadgets you may have) and I just go in.

I've also found staying on campus and studying seems to help. It will often just get me out around other people, not interacting but just the little social experience it provides for me. I don't believe your in college, but do you have a public university near you, a public library, a community college or someplace where you could just get out of the house. I know it helps for me.

I know for me, and I can't come and be a drill sargent to you, but I often have to just say it out loud, if I want to succeed I have to get serious about my studies. It works for me, may not work for you.

I'm learning this balance of life, find balance in your life of hard work and play time.
