In response to a question from Elle magazine as to if he had a "Mrs. Robinson" moment. He says he was seduced by one of his mothers 30 year old friends at Age 16. He of course says that "He wouldn't want to get them in trouble". He doesn't think he was effected however his treatment for Alcoholism in 1992 (according to Wikipedia) tends to say otherwise. If this was a 16 year old girl sleeping with a 30 year old guy views on this would be different. Instead we have it described as a "Mrs. Robinson" moment and thought of as a good thing

Michael Douglas used to do early porn movies back in the 1960s and into the early 1970s too!!!

Isn't denial the most common first reaction to female abuse? Then we create a storyline that excuses it and makes it sound better.
No abuse, no violation = intact manliness

I think views in general would be different if the victim were female, regardless of the sex of the perpetrator. Bottom line is males are expected to stop it from happening and if they don't they either wanted it or deserved it. As someone who was abused at 16 by a guy more than twice my age it is something I struggle with, and often ask myself if I would be constantly questioning my status as a survivor if I were female. I paid to see his films, that's all he gets, fair enough I don't know the age of consent in that US state at the time of these two seductions by older women but he's Michael Douglas, other than tanking one marriage and having a kid in jail his life turned out fine compared to ours.

CBG sorry but I disagree with you again :-(. I think he spent 20+ years in addiction and negative coping strategies until he got sober.
Even so if he has that opinion about the sexual abuse then he isn't connecting the symptoms and cause.

So until this affair is acknowledged as potentially damaging, he's part of the problem unlike someone like Todd Bridges.

That's it? He must confess he was abused, or he's The Enemy? What are we, the Inquisition now?
