He sat there, told me, I'd never feel it.
Never understand, the passion, the pain,
The pills and the pitfalls, how he'd been hit,
Over and over, again and again.
He'd say I was pretty, say I was smart,
Tie me so tightly with flattering words,
Whisper sweet nothings, heap praise on my art,
Dole out "I love you"s like feed for the birds.
Sin now set 'gainst sin in my stomach,
Unable to leave, my wrath falls on him,
Time after time plunge the knife in his back,
Note there that barely perceptable grin.
Can be a coward and still use my fist,
For each time he's hit, looks like he's been kissed!

This is a powerful line. I just sat there staring at it not able to read on for awhile. It doesn't speak directly to my stuff but reminds me of the weighted net created by my abuser. It's frustrating how false kindness so tightly binds. I'm sure you already know, those here on MS, wish to assit you in unteing these knots. What you may not know is I also would be honored to be a part of this labored task.

Thank you friend. It's sobering coming here. One runs the full gamut of human emotion.

Yes they do unfortunately mostly the painful ones. But not all, some are deeply touching and full of rebirth. I like your comments on the Poisoned Oak Poem by Regs. Earlybird

Very cool. It says so much with so little.
