I sit


Eyes of wary intent
Ears for danger
Mind posed in defiance
Displaced anger

Silent in thought
Icy walls to melt
No safe place
Hiding a singular welt


I sit


Searching the room
Studying them all
Who to hold up
Who to make fall


Him I’ve selected
He is not safe
Never lose sight
Study his face


I sit


My selected one
His heart wounded?
He’s like me?
His life offended.


Forgive me brother
My walls must crumble
Take my hand
Separated we’ll stumble


We sit


We are one
Our journey long
No walls between us
Together we belong

I wonder how many of us in the room felt the same way. I don't know that I was looking for threat, but I was certainly wary. There were certainly people that had orange flags hovering over them.

Yet, a bunch of blokes became a community. Who'd have thought it possible?

A group of lost boys (then), who just happened to be men (now).

A diverse group of men...who soon would become fraternal brothers, for life.

Or, as i say my brothers, forever into eternity.
