Yes I read it, of course one could understand that a man of my beliefs wouldn't see the wow, in it. But I'm glad it spoke of good things for you.

Jim -

I have not read it but had heard others talk of it a few years ago. I went to Wikipedia and read the overview of the book. Sounds like a very interesting book especially in dealing with personal pain.

Thanks for sharing.

jim, i have read it and i must say, with all due respect, i am really shocked at your approval of it, understanding your conservative position regarding dogma and religious ideas in general, and this book is far from sub>

Thanks Ron. My T actually suggested it. The Shack i thought was most pertinent to me regarding Forgiveness. It's something I'm focusing on now.

I've read all kinds of books on philosophy, science, etc. I'm partial to CS Lewis from a "worldview" perspective. The "quantum" book sounds interesting...

Thanks for the response, I know that this a BUSY weekend for you. smile

jim, your original comment seemed to beg a less specific focus, so i apologize for the tongue in cheek response. yes, i can see the core value of the book the shack was its focus on the topic of forgiveness. as such, my recommendation of the other book is really not pertinent to this particular topic, but i still recommend it as a great read for anyone who is interested in expanding their awareness of fresh theological perspectives.

have a great easter celebration,

ron

Yes I read the book several months ago. I had heard that our church was having a book study of sorts regarding it and a few others that I had spoke with had read it and found it quite interesting.

I enjoyed the way it helped to brake many ingrained images that had been planted in the minds of people. And as well as the importance of forgiveness in our lives.

I just found out that the author (William Paul Young) is a CSA survivor! That makes sense to me now!

I HIGHLY recommend it!

i just read this book and i got to say it is now one of my favorites. there where so many things this book spoke to me .

some of the conversations with the trinity where very thought provoking and i even have had some of the same thoughts about religion and so on. but great book this book is up there on my list . next to
the "bait of Satan"
and the book "breaking unhealthy soul ties"
