Wor Under the Sequoias

Iím going to be in the midst of men I donít know.
Does it matter if they exist? Can I understand their risk?

Who are they to me and me to them?
Will they notice Iím there? Will they even care?

Iím like them, heavy of heart and laden with pain.
What drew me to this place? What tribunals will I face?

Will they glimpse of me more than I intend them to see?
Or from them will I be able to hide whatís deep inside?

Faith and trust in all of them, ooooh, I have fears!
Men in groups are dangerous men, capable of degenerate sin.

How am I to confide in them when itís my rapist lessons I grasped?
Always protect! Never forget!

They stripped my body naked
Laid me bare, ate at my core leaving me cloaked in despair.

So will I be safe to undress this soul,
Exposing my shame, stranded and naked for all to aim blame?

With my innocence stolen, confidence ripped away
I ask, to achieve life anew must I expose myself to them and you?

Earlybird,

I understand your fears, buddy. But you can relax now. You are among your brothers here. We are your family, buddy. You have already bared some of your soul to us, and no one has aimed blame at you. No brother here would do that, I promise you.

We love you, Earlybird. Maybe some brothers here love you more than others, because those others haven't gotten to know you yet (we are a big family, after all), but even the brothers who don't know you wouldn't hurt you. Oh, sometimes brothers will have arguments or say something thoughtless, but all brothers do those things sometimes. It doesn't mean that they don't care. We do care, and we want to help each other. That includes helping you, buddy.

I know you are afraid to see your brothers face-to-face, afraid of judgment, afraid of not living up to expectations, afraid of being forgotten among so many other brothers, afraid of baring your soul and not feeling like you belong. It's probably natural to feel fears of this kind when facing people you've never met. But, my dear brother, we HAVE met, right here at MS. We love you very much, my brother. And when we meet at the WoR, we'll prove to you that that brotherly love is stronger than any fears you will have.

I understand your fear of groups, buddy, but I've got news for you - you are in a group already: your family here at MS. And you belong with us, if for no other reason than that we love you. You are special to us.

Thank you for your great poem, buddy. Keep them coming.

With love,

Bobcat (and all of your other brothers here at MS)

Thanks Bobcat and Regs,

I appreciate your support. I know both of you will allow me to lean on you guys for support. Iím excited about going to Wor but as Iím sure most, if not all, of the other men that are going I am apprehensive about what may or may not happen. I trust individuals easily but never groups. This will be my trigger to figure out. Love Earlybird

Texas howdy, my fraternal brothers.

Beautiful poem. I will be joining you all at that WoR.

If you want to read one persons thoughts about one of the most importaint events in his senior years. It is about his feelings straight from the depths of his soul.

It is about a WoR last May, at Dahlonega, Georgia.

I, invite you to read my post, titled. Post #288429. 22/05/09

22 Strangers.

You are about to attend an event that will give you the emotional roller coaster ride of your life.

Heal well, my fraternal brothers, heal well.

Little Pete & big Pete, desperately trying to become 1.
