As a resident of the city, I thought I'd put up a topic to answer any and all Q's about the city that attendees might have.

I know NYC can seem like a big, busy, and intimidating place from far away, but I hope I can be of some help in letting folks know that it's really much less intimidating than some might fear.

So fire away all, I'll be checking in a few times to answer any Q's that come up.

How long would it take to get to John Jay by cab from Long Island City? And what are the peak rush hour times that I should be wary of if I were to go?

Thanks for your question. First things first, let me tell you that I'm now posting as myself, Chris Anderson, rather than as tartugas.

As for your Q, it would take approximately 20 minutes to get to JJ from Long Island City by cab. But the challenge can be getting a cab over there. Cabs are not really as plentiful in the outer boroughs.

If you are staying anywhere near the N/R/Q trains, however, it's a relatively quick ride to 57th St and 6th avenue. From there you can walk over to JJ in about 10-15 minutes, or hop on the crosstown M57 bus which runs often and would get you there in a little less time. JJC is at 59th and 10th Avenue

Thank you Mr. Anderson. I'm still mulling over whether to attend or not, but its best I can get all the information I can.

The tickets are booked and my wife will be coming with me. I'm honored to be on Mikes international panel. My wife will only be attending on Friday. We are staying at The Hudson. What is there to do in that area over the weekend? She is thinking of the Zoo in Central Park.

Can you please give us all an update after the hurricane about what New York should look like on in 2 weeks time.
