Hi, my fraternal brother.
Well, my T has told me that i have a sexual addiction.
It is called compulsive M'bing, and i have been for the last 60 years.
Sexual addiction comes in many ways, as some of us know.
Thanks for the article.
Heal well my fraternal brother, Taz, heal well.
Little Pete & big Pete, trying desperately to become 1.

I hate feeling ashamed about it, hate feeling like I am not even in control of myself.
Hope someone can relate to this - for themselves.

This article and the topics covered in it remind me of my long-time friend - ever since we met when we were 13 & 14, I've been in love... maybe infatuated is the word... with her. The relationship we've managed to hammer out between us over the past 10 years is now casual, distant and friendly. Over those years, however, our friendship has been fraught with mutual hurts that drove us apart time and again.
Being in love with her, but also incapable of forming a healthy relationship with her (because of my sexual abuse [?]) left me feeling more isolated and alone than I ever imagined possible, taking solace in obsessive fantasies, masturbation and internet & printed pornography.
I realized recently that I've been waiting around for her long-term relationship with her boyfriend to end instead of living my own life, and it has soured all attempts at having an intimate relationship with anyone else.
I think I consider myself (at 23) a recovering sexual addict, my whole childhood adolescence, and part of my young adult life having been wasted on unhealthy sexual behaviors instead of time spent with friends having fun. I recently changed my approach to Facebook, and I'm happy to say it's proved a healthy outlet for me - I can now use the internet to connect and maintain relationships with my friends, even plan on going out to meet up with them, rather than look at pictures of the people I'd like to be spending time with by myself in my room.
Lot's of changes happening here, hopefully it's a positive trend that I can maintain long enough to realize it's worth the effort! Thanks for reading,
M

Thank you for the post grownup_child.
We will be here for you all along the way, you seem to know it is worth the effort (as do we all perhaps) but that isn't the hardest part is it? That's what we are here for!
Keep up the great thinking, WellIIlikeDirt

After a decade plus of denial I finally jumped into a twelve step program for sex addiction-it has really helped me separate unhealthy/harmful/sexual behavior out of my life-it was impossible for me to be intimate with so much secrecy, self-absorption and unresolved shame in my life.
Taking intimacy slowly one day (or date) at a time , consciously and facing my fears Really has worked for me the past eight years. I think about how hopeless and confused I was when I drank in porn, M, and using others for sex and fleeing-those were horrible years. And my perp had a lifetime of that kind of desparate living. Yikes. I have hope today and love and some humor

This is a great article about sex addiction
I have been in SA for 12 years and just now beginning to deal with CSA issues.
