I tuned in late and so I only saw the last 10 minutes of this. But it looked really worthwhile for those of us who are active in this site and have an interest in these issues.

Today's program featured 4 guys who have molested girls. I would think a lot of the issues are the same for abusers of boys.

http://www.oprah.com/oprah_show.html

The show is supposed to be available for viewing on-line at 9:00 tonight. I'm not sure of the time zone of this because she just said "9:00 tonight".

Some of them have "done time".

A week from today she will interview some more, including a female abuser (who says she has abused more than 100).

Whatever ;you think of Oprah, this looks really interesting to me.

I also watched this episode earlier today. I usually don't watch Oprah but I was very interested in what these guys had to say. One thing I found really interesting is near the end of the televised interview when Oprah asked if there was anything their victims could have done to stop the abuse. If I remember correctly one of them said something like "She could have said no." I kept thinking to myself "Yeah, right. You would have done it anyway."

I'll make sure to pop on over to her sight and check out the whole 2-hour interview. Thanks for the thread.

It is showing now. This is hard to watch but it does give me some insight. Oprah wants to choke them.

Ok good, then it might not have the longer-lasting "paedophile platform" effect that interviewing the KKK had years back.

I couldn't watch it. I saw no redeeming value in the whole concept. AN FBI interveiw in private for research purposes ok, but not this tv show for profit.

Oprah is pretty disgraceful she's lost all sense of proportion or of the people she "intends" to help. For more than 10 years now her show has been a joke to me. Her clear personal mental issue around eating and the denial everyone exercises around it is glaring and destroyed any credibility she had with me.
Maybe if she continued the personal revalation style of shows and delved into this issue she'd be better off and I'd be able to respect her.

Like allen found this program to be enlighting into how perps think and behave. Some of it was really hard to listen to but in the end I think a good show. I no longer wish to demonize my perp but would rather learn what made him tick and do the things to children that he did. So that we can learn to protect our children from people whom suffer with the urge to use children for their own sexual desires.
It is amazing to me that almost all children know and trust their perps. Really does away with the myth of the flasher in the raincoat.
