Hello everyone,

We would like to announce that the YWCA of Bergen County's Rape Crisis Center is beginning a new 10-week cycle of a Men's Survivor Group in Bergen County. The group is a psychoeducational group covering different topics each week, such as trauma, emotions and anger, intimacy, disclosure, and others. The group is facilitated by a licensed professional and will be held once per week in the evenings. A maximum of 8 participants will be in the group.

I have responded to this posting and everything seems cool. There is no charge for the group. Seems like a good opportunity to participate in a group setting for those of you who are ready to do so. I hope to participate seeing as it is real close to where I live. I am a member of another support group as well as a past attendee of two Wor's.....

I am a abuse survivor who lived in Washington TWP. (Bergen County) New Jersey and was abused there from 73-77. I now live in Utah and have just begun to experience the repressed memories of that abuse. I wonder if there are other survivors from the same time and place who would want to share with me and if this resource is also available to me.

I am starting a csa group here in Cambridge MD will be meeting in about a month feel free to contact me if you are in the area.

I might have some of the press releases (in paper form) for the abuser who may have been your perp. That is, a perp who was arrested there in the 90's. Are you interested?

When they caught him I was curious about whether he could be my perp so I talked to the prosecuter on the phone. I may have some notes.

I looked through my 4 inch thick file - so far I haven't found it. I still have 2 other file folders. As you can tell I'm not as well organized as I would like to be. I promise I won't disclose any personal info. I think I have a fair recollection of the phone conversation but I need to see if I have any notes.

I think that what I recollect is that there were 2 perps working in conjunction. I think (this is just my memory - long time ago) they were involved in abusing scouts. ... Something about tying them to chairs or something. They had been convicted and would still be serving time unless they got out on parole. One of them had a soft voice, so the prosecuting attorney told me

I think I found the article. It is dated August 28, 1994. It reported the trial of a pair of men for using young boys for sexual purposes. They lured the boys from a skating rink and took pictures of...The trial was in Camden, N.J.

"Two men who admitted paying boys as young as 8 years old to be videotaped...sentenced to lengthy prison terms...judge...called them dangerous predators."

Prosecutors said John Macleod age 63 and Richard Pepe age 48, were part of a ring of six men who lured boys from a roller skating rink ....filled a locker in southern New Jersey with ... pornographic materials.

Judge...doubled ...sentence for MacLeod, of Silver Spring, Md....who he said could not be rehabilitated after a lifetime devoted to sexually exploiting children.

I collected a large amount of newspaper articles and some magazine articles on csa (child sexual abuse). I had amnesia concerning the abuse I experienced for 30 some years. When my memories surfaced it was like going into a place that had been locked up for many years and everything was left in place just as it had been.

I didn't remember the name of my perpetrator until about a year after this article appeared. I of course had great curiosity as to who my perp might have been. So when this article appeared I wondered if he might be the one. I called the prosecuting attorney on the phone to get a de>

Ok that would be great while I was abused in the Scouts and my perp worked in a roller skating also and would also use that as a venue to me. Wow I just realized that the roller skating was a part of my abuse also. I cannot believe this I thought I had remembered it all but I am having a new memory come up every few weeks now. MY perps first name was Don and Bergen county is in northern NJ. To my knowledge he has never been caught or prosecuted but I know very little.

Well it looks like (according to the US Da's office) that there is no statute of limitations in my case. So justice may still be a available to me.

any peer support groups in nj/nyc area?

yeah...we're a group who meets twice a month...right now near the delaware water gap. we have two from the NYC area...I live in northern NJ. most of us drive at least an hour to meet up.
