Hi,

I have looked at this discussion group everyday for a couple of days. I finally had courage to join today. While I was registering to join the group I began to well up inside and cry a little bit. It hurts so much...

Thanks for posting. The first step is always the hardest - you just have to get past that intial step. Before I joined I would read the threads and tear up. Finally got past that and joined. I feel much better now that I've found all these folks to help with all my "stuff". I don't mind the crying so much anymore. I feel proud to be able to hang out with so many courageous guys. I feel like I joined the Navy SEALS.

Congratulations on having the courage to break the silence. That is a really big step.

Take your time about talking about things. No one rushes that. Some may take a year or two before they feel safe to talk about some stuff.

It is good to have you here. The more members we have the more power we have to advocate for better treatment of boys and men.

Thank you all for the nice and supportive welcome. I feel strength as I write this and while reading other guys posts. I know that I am not alone.

Jim - I feel the same. I believe you and I began posting the same day. I had never, ever shared any of this with anyone. I thought it was "just me" (knew intellectually that it couldn't be ... but felt that way just the same). The support and understanding here is invaluable. Thanks for sharing!

im relatively new here too, 4 weeks or so actually.
facing up to my past after 30 odd years of choking it back. Really hard right now but im told it gets easier. If you wanna chat about it online then mail me.
