Border police are another one. Having travelled internationally, especially to the United States, I learned early to never question a border guard's questions, no matter how innane or ridiculous they may seem. I say so because they aren't actually interested in the answers to your questions. Rather, border guards are looking for inconsistencies in what you're saying, which becomes an immediate red flag for them. An indignant response to how stupid the questions are will only make things worse for you. The other thing I'm always cognizant of when attempting to enter another country is that as a non-citizen I have no rights whatsoever so better not to act like you own the place when attempting to get in.
