Hello,

I have seen the movie called Ostrov (The Island). http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0851577/ It is Russian. I would describe it in a few words as a movie about a man who seeks forgiveness and has repented for almost all of his life.

It is about the Russian Orthodox Church monk, and his life is shown in very deep spiritual detail. The movie is a revelation.

I recommend to see it just to feel and think about one's own life.

Alexey

When you feel all alone and unhappy, turn to you Inner Child and talk to Him.
You will see He can comfort you like nothing else!

Thank you, guys.

It is definitely a movie to see. It is really religious. On the other hand, it shows a life of a simple man full of spiritual struggle. It made me rethink my little life.

Since Alexey posted this, I have watched it.

As many Russian movies go, it has little glitz. But I get tired of glitz anyway. It starts out slow and gets you in the frame and then it gets deep quickly. I liked this. This movie will be in my thoughts for a long time. It has a surprise ending that is quite charming.

Yes, this movie has no glitz even by Russian standards. In my opinion, it would not be made better with glitz.

I am really thankful I have seen it and could recommend it here for you. It is especially valuable for me because I recognize the life I see in Russia.

I told you about this movie because I felt there was something in it that made it special and also many people were touched when they saw it.

I think the movie has a great depth. It is like the works of Tolstoy and Dostoevsky. It makes you think and it moves your heart.
