Why do I have to login twice before the site acknowledges me?

Delete your cookie stash and that should solve it.

You may have a virus on your computer. Something called a key-logger. If so, it is recording your passwords and sending them to some shack in Odessa. Allen pufferfish

Puffer I don't think so. It doesn't do this on other sites. It's always twice and only this site. I use firefox 3.5.5

See if any of these work:
1. Reboot your computer. 2. Flush your DNS cache. 3. Power cycle your modem and/or router.

Maybe you're right after all, puffer, I'm on another computer useing IE and it logs in first time. I did clear the history and have reset the modem. And I've restarted several times since this problem.

Kidney, If you have Windows try using IE on the PC that you normally do. All you have to do is find IE on the program list. Goto Start > All Programs and you should see Internet explorer with the e next to it, click on it then try to log in to the site

I can log in with one try in IE 64 bit on this machine but it still takes two tries with Firefox.

I have three browsers on my machine: Firefox, Safari, and Opera. They all work well with the MS login routine. No problems at all. I used to have difficulty with one of them but a good e-cleaning of my machine seemed to do the trick.

Can you impart more information about an "e-cleaning". I realize you're not here to give m computer advice, but....here's hoping!

I'm guessing he means running disc cleanup then running defrag.

sono Basically I cleaned up all the excess clutter on my computer, i.e. unused programs, files, etc., made sure all the software I was using had the most current updates, cleared my browser cache, cookies, history, etc. In essence I came as close to reformatting my hard drive as one can without actually reformatting. Sometimes a computer get's so filled with excess, unused, or unnecessary stuff that it can no longer operate optimally and it's time to clean things up.

I just noticed yesterday it doesn't even matter if I get the first login correct it only lets me in on the second login.
I have fine motor coordination trouble and I mistyped my login, When I repeated it thinking I'd have to do it a third time to make up for the missed login it let me in. So apparently this is some bug requiring two logins from Firefox even if one of them is wrong.

Yeah firefox must be the culprit. I have found lately that I am constantly being logged out. Every post or reply I do, requires a relog. I also get the double login thing at first, too.
Perhaps a recent update by firefox caused something. I never had this problem before (don't you hate when people say "i never had this problem before"?).

Now it gets weirder. I can login with IE just fine but when I log out it relogs me back in! Literally it logs out then reloads and I'm logged in again.
