Locking doors, windows
sleep is difficult at times
Morning comes again

looking behind you
watching for those unwanted
keeping safe inside

noises startle me
relax and have fun I do
past hides behind me

sometimes roses fall
the sun hides beneath the clouds
moon glows nice and round

when it looks all safe
evil lurks around a child
who can stop it now?

sometimes children hurt
their pain may sometimes appear
questions about pain

days will come and go
they say children bounce right back
sometimes thats not true

I was inspired by our brief chat yesterday and reading your words enough to take a stab at Haiku.... here goes

plain and vacant eyes
childhood innocence is destroyed
indescribable

confusion in life
uncertainty hinders choices
mistakes start to grow

mundane routine flows
life's sparkling gift burried deep
lost can't find can't see

must find hidden spark
booze drugs sex temporary fix
unlasting feelings

preoccupation
lonliness dispair and anguish
what is a life worth

accumulation
false guilt false shame false remorse lies
lava burns inside

must think out of box
change thoughts change friends change everything
scratch claw look search dig

finding spark of hope
reaching out holding on light shines
new face new body grows

fear changes to love
hearts will shine through pain and discord
cannot kill true self

bloom

waiting for the spring
when it's not so cold and dark
but I'm standing still

frozen ground crackles
sends searing pain through my veins
better to stand still

unseen crowds rush by
making not a sound at all
leaving me behind

gazing up and down
motionless against my will
wrapped up nice and warm

forward's not a choice
neither is looking behind
stuck at a red light

time and space aren't here
neither is a warm embrace
not that I can tell

emotions rise up
squash them down, I tell myself
no one here can know

progress is waning
some things never go away
where's my savior now?

lying down feels good
but I know that it's not safe
woods are full of wolves

re-creating me
it's a task I can't endure
like the touch of her

yes, it's much better
using arms to hide my face
no need to face barbs

roses still bloom here
like hope itself standing tall
I can't smell a thing

she's my shining light
beckoning me to her warmth
I just look away

no, I need to stay
spring's just around the corner
it will come to me

endless frozen land
the sun is low in the sky
should be here by now
