I would probably say my latest is the opening segment of Coraline.

The opening to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was cool too, considering I was just a little kid when it came out. smile

now that I saw it again I remember the Willy Wonka one too. Like you, as a little kid I thought it was pretty good.

Jaws - the first time you saw it, when you didn't really have a clue what was going to happen exactly!!!

Star Wars - the first time you saw the opening crawl follwed by the relatively big and cool spaceship going over the camera, then followed by the ENORMOUS Emperiale Battle Cruiser

Raiders of the lost Ark - uh, action adventure buzz big time!

Don't know if those are top 3, but they're the first ones to come to mind!

I love a good movie intro.

Lord of War may be one of my favorites. (Caution last 20 seconds may be triggering)

I also liked the intro for The Departed

Inframan (1976)

Produced by the Shaw Brothers in 1975. These guys made a lot of crazy Kung-Fu flicks in the 70's, I believe they were a major influence on Quinten Tarantino in his "Kill Bill" title movies, as evidenced by the sensationalist-70's-brass-backed soundrack, much like I saw in the drive-in theaters as a boy in the 70's.

http://www.amazon.com/Super-Inframan-Dan...howViewpoints=1

Inframan made the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers look like a bunch of 3rd grade WIMPS!

I first watched this when I was really high at 2am in the morning watching USA's Night Flight, back in 1984 or so, LOL!

Roger Ebert gives a brief review:
____________________________________________________________

Within the first four mintues of "Infra-Man," (a) giant flying lizard attacks a school bus, (b) the Earth cracks open, (c) Hong Kong is destroyed by flames, (d) mountains disintegrate to reveal the forms of reptilian monsters with blinking yellow eyes, (e) the Professor announces that a twenty-million-year-old woman is unleashing the hibernating monsters upon civilization, (f) the Science Headquarters is shaken by a second quake, (g) the Mutants awake, and (h) the Professor, obviously shaken, informs a secret meeting of world leaders, "This situation is so bad that it is the worst that ever has been!"

No doubt about it: This is a case for Infra-Man. In his secret laboratory far beneath the Science Headquarters, the Professor explains to a brave volunteer: "We will wire your arms and legs with powerful transistors and death rays. You will be powered by a tiny nuclear reactor. Unfortunately, the operation will be very painful and you may die."

That was an awesome movie intro. I saw that film before but didn't recall all of the details until now. I'll have to see it again.

I haven't seen Willow but from the clip you posted it looks interesting. I love sci fi and fantasy films. Books not so much...
