For me trying to BE in chat is fun but also very uncomfortable.

Are there guidelines or helpful suggestions posted here at MS for all users of the chatroom for us survivors?

It would be nice to have so we are all on the same page. I know I have said stuff that has upset others and I had no intent to harm. I have been upset by what others have said.

I know as a survivor I am hypervigilent and too sensitive. But, it would be helpful if know what wording are NOT advisable to use and what wording are more helpful.

I know some are very verbal and dominate the room and some see me as being controlling of the room.

Does this make sense?

You raise a very valid issue. Four+ years ago when I first joined MS there was a chat anteroom one had to enter prior to entering chat itself. In that anteroom was the chat guidelines and every time you logged in you were also indicating you understood the chat guidelines. During one of the site upgrades that happened nearly 3 years ago now that room and those guidelines vanished into thin air.

One of the things that I have discussed with my supervisors on the BoD is a return of that chat anteroom which will contain the chat guidelines and other pertinent information. It may take some time (months at best) to make that happen due to funding, available volunteer time, etc., but your request is heard and understood. We're going to be addressing this very issue.

i think its an excellent idea to have the chat guidelines and "helpful information" easily accessable...prior to entering chat.
