Although this event is tragic, I am encouraged to see it being handled appropriately both by the Police, and perhaps more especially, the press. I hope the man concerned will heal from the terrible situation.

Thank you for printing the story regarding the woman who raped and assaulted the man. Sexual assault can and does happen to men. For far too long the notion that men cannot be victims of sexual assault has prevailed. Studies indicate that 1 in 6 men will be sexually assaulted by the time they are 18. Thats millions of men in the US and Canada. For the most part, their shame, and guilt has kept them quiet, suffering the same as woman, but with far fewer resources upon which to seek support, and help. Think about the man sitting next to you, your brother, father, uncle, grandfather, or son. 1 in 6.

They printed my letter! HA! They actually printed my letter. Ok, it was a month, no, more than a month after the article appeared, but they did print the letter.

Given the delay, me thinks that someone might have decided that abuse of males is real, and is newsworthy. Ya think?
