Hi Guys:

Just wanted to let you know that the Philippines has been hit my a major typhoon and that there has been severe flooding there, with nearly 100 confirmed deaths, with some wind damage and widespread power outages. Both Marvin (b869) and Steven (Sabata) are living in the Philippines, and we haven't heard from Marvin for several days now, which is longer than he usually has gone between posts.

Just hope that both of our members there are safe.

Has anyone heard from Marvin lately???

Hopefully, he, at worst, is merely out of power or something minor. I've not heard from him. But, I've not been in chat much lately either, which is where I've usually seen him.

I have not heard from Marvin sorry to say.

I will let you know if I do. Please keep us posted.

Don't worry I live on higher grounds so I'm safe. I heard there's another storm coming tom. I hope it would be okay... I'm sooo tired of hearing about how many homeless people who died...

Hey Marvin:

Glad to see that you are OK. If you have any friends who live near the waterfront, there has just been a huge earthquake in American Samoa and a tsunami warning has been issued in your region. If you see the ocean water pulling back from the beach, get away from the beach as fast as you can!!! I guess some beachfront towns in Samoa have already been wiped-out by a tsunami there. Any of our members from beachfront eastern Australia or northern New Zealand need to be on the lookout for a tsunami too. I would guess that you have 60-90 minutes from the time of the earthquake to get away from the beach!!!

I too am glad our buddy Marvin is doing ok. Marvin has got a such a big heart and care for others. Such a good one. My thoughts are with those who've perished and their families, in this horrific weather event.

Hey Marvin:

Better get yourself into a substantial concrete building well away from the beach. A Category-4 Hurricane can do quite a bit of damage. Evacuating to the east side of your island might be the best thing. If you can't get away, try to get into a substantial large building, and don't go outside during the storm. One of the leading causes of deaths and injuries in hurricanes and typhoons is from flying debris.

There's another typhoon coming it might pull back the previews typhoon. If they joined together I don't wanna think whats ganna happen next. Some of my teachers send the whole northern Luzon would be sink or something luckily I'm not in that area, but still I wish it wouldn't happen.
