I HATE IT! madWhen ever I post something in excess of a few lines the screen starts to jump, and I have to scroll down every g.d. time to see what I wrote! What rubbish! Should have stayed with IE7.

Anyway to go back to it?

Jim

You should be able to uninstall it by going to Start - Control Panel - Programs and Features. That should revert back to 7 (if you had it on there before). If you have System Restore turned on (is by default) then you can check for the restore point where IE8 was installed. Bear in mind that this will essentially remove every program installed between now and then (so only suitable as a last resort).

Or you can just use a better browser. Firefox 3.5 came out today:
http://www.firefox.com

I haven't liked IE for quite a while now, and only use it when I absolutely have to (which, thankfully, is usually only at work).

Try Firefox, it works good for me, and it has much better security built-in than IE7. And I vastly prefer Windows 2003 over Vista too. I even have a brand-new copy of Word 2003 in a box plus Office Professional 2003 too, so why learn anything new?

And until Alan comes and gets it I also have a copy of Windows XP in my car too!!!

Just say NO to Vista and IE,

Mark

I've found firefox to work best with the MS software... Of course you could opt to get a real computer and get a Mac... laugh

Vista is evil.

Quit using IE 8 and download Firefox, or netscape, or .......anything else! Just quit using IE. It's pure evil.

Firefox seems great! Thanks for the suggestion guys! Typing a message in a message window using IE8 was like typing in an earthquake the way it jumped and heaved.

And John, anytime you care to donate to the added costs of a Mac, please feel free to do so. With my dollar plummeting against yours (again!) your kind and generous contribution will go a long way ! grin

If you use any Java-based applications you may need to download Java for Firefox too. But that isn't that hard either.

Glad that Firefox is working as advertised!!!
