Hi all,

I am trying to get 6-8 men who are interested in forming an all-male, CSA survivors therapy group run by a qualified therapist. I have two therapists who may be interested, if I can get together enough men to participate. The format and length of the commitment can be determined by the group once the group has formed.

If you are looking for group therapy in the greater Los Angeles area and need the weekly support of other men who have similar issues, please PM me (Phildog40). I would like to get started as soon as possible.

I don't know what the cost would be per week, but if we can get 8 people, I imagine it would be around $50/per week for a 90 min group.

That's great Michael. I am meeting with the therapist tomorrow. Are you willing to come to LA once a week? That's a long commute. If so, I can put you in touch with the therapist running the group to arrange an interview.

You would make the third person for the group. I am hoping we can find at least two more before we get started if possible.

I've noticed it is very hard to find a support group in Southern California.

I see Therapists are trying to start little groups that are not very well advertised.

I would like start a group in Los Angeles or Ventura county place where people could meet to share resources or meet to see that they are not alone because there are others out there like us.

I tried your link but it doesn't go anywhere for me. Dr Lee Blackwell in Huntington Beach runs his own support group once per week, and he has westside office hours as well as his Huntington Beach office too.

As of January 2010, the Los Angeles mens group meets twice a month, on the 1st and 3rd Sundays, in Mar Vista, about 15 minutes from LAX.

Hi-I am interested in a support group in the LA/Ventura/Santa Barbara area. I live in the LA area, but work in Santa Barbara, so anywhere between LA and Santa Barbara would work for me.
