What is the connection? Some go one way and others go the opposite, but it seems to have the same reasoning, I would think?

Control? it must be in some way.

Now that I'm taking back control the hyper is confusing me more and more.

Would love some thought's from both on the subject

Ken?

Stay strong
Mike

Sure Alan, hyper as in hyper-sexualized, or hypo, as in not at all sexual.

in vocal production hyper refers too using too much pressure on the vocal folds creating a stressed sound, and hypo refers to not enough stress causing an anemic breathy inefficient use of tone. i'm sure some parallels can be drawn between the two subjects.

Mike,

I'm not sure what you are getting at.

Hypo- always means insufficient or not enough of - - Example: Hypoallergenic - Doesn't cause problems with allergies.

Hyper- means too much or over the top. Example: Hyperactive = too active.

I'm guessing you are referring to alternating between being oversexed/obsessed/horney as hyper and avoiding/disgusted/uninterested in sex as the hypo?

Most of us can understand the hyper times (particularly when tied into excessive porn and masturbation). The hypo times might be conscious ("Can't stand the thought of anything sexual") or maybe the subject/desire doesn't even come up for long periods of time?
