there are so many things complicating this case:

-the victim was 23 at the time [how are he and the perp related, and what were the circumstances leading up to their being together in the first place?]
-the perp is now twice his age. i've seen relationships with this age gap before. the media celebrates them. however, this obviously was not consensual since the perp has already been convicted.
-apparently the perp is the primary caregiver of his again parents. what happens to them when he goes to jail?

as a rape survivor, i feel for the victim, and this shows first hand the second generation victimization that occurs with those who rely on the perpetrator for getting their needs met. because of his actions their future is effected as well.

this is all so tragic and sad in so many ways, on so many levels.
