I do the same thing when I'm down. I just stop eating. I've done it since I was 6. I was hospitalized twice for malnourishment. If I were you I would get some nutrient drinks for the elderly.

I've been in this trap a few times before. Lately, I'm eating some but not like usual. I'm so depressed some days that food just doesn't even sound good.

I've never been hospitalized, but its part of the reason I lost so much weight in the past year.

Can I ask you, did this problem begin around the same time as the CSA began? For some reason I never made the connection until today, but the first time I was hospitalized was around the same time the abuse started.

You do any coke or crank? Both will cause you to lose weight. Pot smokers always get the "munchies" and at least they eat well. Let's see: Vegan means no meat, but as someone else pointed out, fast-food fried food is often fattening. Have you seen the movie Supersize Me? That guy gained 40 lbs in a month eating 3 meals per day at McDonalds. How about some ice cream? Maybe a couple of Krispy Kreme donuts? Did you know that for every Krispy Kreme donut that you eat you gain 2 lbs? Imagine how much weight you could gain eating a half-dozen every day.

And there are some more-expensive weight gain products too. Are there any buffet restaurants near you that are all-that-you-can-eat? I weighed 120 lbs less than I do now when I was still using coke heavily before recovery. After just 4 years of recovery I had gained 45 lbs, and I gained another 45 lbs when I quit smoking the first time too. Now I have to shop at the big & tall men's store because the shirts that they sell at Walmart don't fit anymore. It could be worse. Imagine having to wear 4XLT shirts and 50W x 34L jeans? In high school I wore Large shirts and 32W x 36L jeans.

At the age of 17 I was 6'5" and 170 lbs. By the age of 19 that was up to 190 lbs, and by 21 I was up to 215 lbs. By 25 I was tipping the scale at 235 lbs. How much would putting on 60 lbs help you? It might help some of the guys look at someone else instead. Maybe get a black leather jacket and wear several layers of clothing under it to make yourself look bigger. That helped me until I didn't need it any longer. Guys will continue to look at you until you look more intimidating. Maybe try to use an eye-contact trick that I was taught when I had a role in a school play. Focus on something well behind the person, then look back at them while holding the longer focal depth. The person then will be all out of focus and their eyes won't bother you.

There are also various pre>
