This new Ohio case is just too bizarre and disturbing. Seems like we have an epidemic among the medical profession these days:

BUTLER COUNTY — In a bizarre case of alleged child sex abuse, two Butler County pediatricians - who also are twin brothers - are facing a 76-count indictment that accuses them of molesting some of the young males they had sworn to help.

The indictment, released Friday, accuses Mark Blankenburg, who practiced primarily in Hamilton, of 54 charges, replacing 36 counts he had faced since an initial indictment in December.

His brother, Scott, who practiced in Fairfield, faces 22 charges.

The sex charges in the dual indictment revolve around seven accusers - three tied to each doctor separately and a seventh young man who accuses both doctors, officials said. Several accusers are former patients of the doctors.

The twin doctors, both 53 years old, have practiced in the area for more than 20 years. Combined, the doctors' patient roster contains 6,000 to 7,000 names.

I wouldn't prejudge the two doctors until the FACTS and investigations are done. The Judicial System is quick to look at something with a bend pair of eyeglassses. These two men could be innocent. We just don't know yet. Its reads like a nightmare of a situation for sure. From the feedback on the newspaper article itself some stupid uneducated people are calling these two doctors "homosexuals" because of the gender of the alleged victims.

Just because someone is male assaults or victimizes another male doesn't make the person committing the assault "a homosexual".
We don't call a man who rapes or sexua assaults a young female "a heterosexual" assault. So it really bothers me that people connect male to male sexual victimization with homosexuality.

I have no doubt they're guilty - but then I've never trusted doctor's much ... I have to admit, though ... one of my favorite lines out of the story

More horrible details today. Scott Blankenburg has been charged (among other things) for fondling a five year old boy and having caches of child porn and yet he is STILL allowed to treat little kids -with a nurse present. Who in god's name would send their child to this guy?

Dr. Mark Blankenburg was convicted of 16 counts of child molestation yesterday in Ohio. He and his identical twin brother Dr. Scott Blankenburg were arrested in March for a total of 75 counts that included child molestation, child pornography. Dr. Scott Blankenburg will be tried in April. What's astonishing is that it only took seven months from their arrest to convict one of them. Here's an Associated Press story

I would venture to say that he probably wasn't his "type", hence, he was never violated.

This is so sick - OMG. I have not heard this story - I guess I would not ready so it never came my way.

I work in the medical field and some doctors are 'weird'.

But wow 6,000 to 7,000. Get them off the streets - NOW.

The psychologist who evaluated Blankenburg observed:"He was unusually happy and seemed oblivious to his current legal circumstances and incarceration. He chuckled and laughed aloud at times, and he scoffed at his charges and (at) the thought that anyone would believe what others said about him during his trial,” Hopes’ report says.

She also described Blankenburg as arrogant and condescending.

Dr. Scott Blankenburg, the other pedophile twin, is now expected to plead guilty to child molestation this week, rather than face a trial in April.

HAMILTON — A former Hamilton pediatrician convicted of molesting three former patients and paying them in drugs and cash to keep quiet is set to return to court today, April 22, to plead to 12 child pornography charges remaining against him, according to court records.
A “plea or trial setting” has been scheduled for 2:30 p.m. for Mark Blankenburg before Butler County Common Pleas Court Judge Keith Spaeth, according to the county clerk of courts website.
Blankenburg’s trial on 12 charges involving alleged child pornography is to begin May 24, so it seems likely pleas will be entered.
