2nd DUI, inconclusive facts, they want to make a deal??? If they will let him stay out of jail and retain the ability to drive to work that would be a great deal. If they want to fry him over his 2nd DUI and their evidence isn't that strong he should hire an attorney. He should most likely hire a local attorney anyway, as sometimes the attorney, prosecutor, and judge all know each other, and might be more-willing to offer a deal. A 22 year-old nephew of mine got 60 days in the county jail where he lives for his 3rd DUI, plus a 3-year driver's license suspension, so your brother might get a better deal then 21 days plus a license suspension.

And yes, the government has way too much control over our daily lives, and there is very little that an individual can do about it. The sooner that you get used to that idea, the better for you. Even if you move to the backcountry and hideout, these days they will still see your campfire smoke and heat signature on the infrared, and someday a ranger-type will come snooping around, or they will save some money and watch you from outer space. They know your bank and credit accounts and they know how much that you spend. A large percentage of urban America and many major rural highways are now covered with security cameras, and that percentage is growing. The power company knows how much power that you use and they compare your usage against both your neighbor's use and against previous use too. They know how much money that you make. And as technology increases, government control is only going to get worse.

So have you're brother hire an attorney and quit worrying about stuff that you have no control over. You will more quickly progress towards your freedom if you concentrate on changing the things that you have the power to change.

Mark

Lynch,

Facing a serious offense like that your brother is, He should have had an attorney from the start. Attorneys can be the best friend you will have ever had in situations like this. They are part of the system so to speak and they can talk to cop,or judge in question. Work out deals that we as defendants can't.
A Judge will usually take the word of the cop over the defendants unless you can cast some double on what the officer has testified to. They are part of the same system (justice system).
My license is my livilihood and I would never go to court without a lawyer. The playing field in court is tilled against you.

Mike

Well lets put it this way my brother can't afford an attorney he is in debt really badly and has been in an out of court over the past 6 months or so. It's just hard to see my brother go through all of this. As I see it sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to learn or atleast I have.

Yeah I agree trucker I do need to work on the things I can control within myself as a person in society. I can agree I've made it a long ways in my recovery and how I see things now. I guess im just sick and tired of focusing on recovery this recovery that. I've had other things on my mind obviously like my career, family, friends, financial freedom, responsibilities, things that I want to accomplish over the next couple of years, deep thought... lol literally Im just fed up with people at my work at home I just like being alone its nice quiet I don't have to listen to anyone or anything besides myself and my perspectives and indulge into books on mathematics/programming things that challenge my brain and not so much my coordination. Things are just becoming to easy for me lately its hard for me to explain to people because I don't think about recovery anymore really I just use this to help others and vent about deep thoughts that I have or situations that im in. just to get a different perspective on things.

A lot of my SA I've goten over its just my unconcious beliefs that need to be reprogrammed which im in the process of working on daily so its all good. anyways guys have a goodone lynchmob
