Ok. I know as we age, that as men, we tend to develop hair in some rather unsightly places. Nose hair seems to develop a life of its own, and never really bothers you until that important moment in your life, when during an intense episode of social intercourse such as a job interview, marriage proposal, bargaining for a good price on a car, an errant hair suddenly, and without any warning prongs you in the nostril causing intense pain, tears flowing sometimes, and an otherwise overwhelming feeling that one has just participated, however unwittingly, or unwillingly in one's own temporal lobotomy. This I have come to know as just part of life. It happens. Well! As it happens, I was seated in the chair of my barber late last week, when I caught her using her clippers on the top of my ear! I asked her if she had suddenly gone blind and could no longer find my scalp, but she said, instead that I had a few wayward hairs sticking out from the top of my ear! I asked her if she was kidding, and she said no. She also made a comment about a few hairs inside my ear as well...! Needless to say, this came as somewhat of a surprise being fair skinned and fair haired all my life. She would have had to use a nuclear micrometer to get me to see it and then dyed it as well! Mother Nature can indeed be a nasty old thing turning me into a aurally hirsute individual so late in life. It ain't fair! Its just another thing my wife can make fun of me about! I tell ya it ain't fair! What's that you say? Speak up! My dreadlocks are in the way! Jim

I know what you mean; though only in my mid-thirties, i've managed to once find the odd single, long, crooked, thick hair growing out of my earlobe, of all places... and, yes, i'm also familiar with the "sudden blinding nasal-hair pain" thing.

I can relate in the last ten years. I have develop a patch of hair that grows just below the base of my neck and right between my shoulder blades. What it's purpose is I have no idea. I just don't understand why it could not have chosen my head where it is really needed or my chest where they are few and far between. Life is not fair.

Ok Joel, you asked for it! How the hell am I supposed to do anything of what you suggest if I can't see the offending follicles? And seriously, take a razor to the top of my ear? I'd likely cause more harm than good. If I could see the damn things I'd just use my trusty nose mower. But alas, I can't see them and no matter what I do, that ear of mine always seems to follow my movements!

Strangely enough the conversation then turned into a discussion about who the lady in "Gorilla in the mist" was! I can´t believe how hard it is to get a little empathy here on this site!!! Sigourney Weaver! Do I get a prize Niels? Jim
