In the midst of the darkness,
the thunder,
Burns a flame with a heart of a soldier.

Ready, alert, committed in giving his life,
his all.

The flame is me... destiny.

Not a long poem, not anything major....but for me it's a declaration that I am a warrior, a survivor and that I will stand up and fight this fight. Not just my battle, but that I am committed to stand up for fellow men and boys and help them fight this storm that rages within.

Perfect's Veterans' Day here in the U.S. Especially for those of us who suffered abuse AND served in the military, I thank you.

Wish that I could cry
Fall upon my knees
Find a way to lie
About a home Iíll never see

It may sound absurd...but donít be naive
Even heroes have the right to bleed
I may be disturbed...but wonít you concede
Even heroes have the right to dream
Itís not easy to be me

Cool poem. And yes, you can fight this fight. You've already got all the strength and courage you will need; the trick is just to find it, trust it, and learn to use it.

Much love,

Nobody living can ever stop me
As I go walking my freedom highway.
Nobody living can make me turn back:
This land was made for you and me.
(Woody Guthrie)

Hi, just great, let me give you the same response from Fissy Tsickens. As a military retiree this is one war that I, and that lost boy cannot afford to lose. Heal well, my friend.

from the heart of a warrior to the heart of a soldier.
in the trenches, the foxholes, the fields and the forests,
in the bunkers, the jungles, the oceans, the deserts,
we fight together.
we fight for each other.
brother for brother.

great poem.
