My old boss in Cleveland was a Naturist. He used to own a spot for a camping trailer at one of their camping parks SW of Cleveland, OH, but I can't remember its name. He said that they had an open-air bar & restaurant, with a swimming pool, tennis courts, and horseshoe pits, even putt-putt golf. He even showed us a brochure of the place. I don't see how him and his family could stand it with all of the mosquitos in Ohio.

I used to be kind of a naturist in my own house until some 20-something down the street got busted for doing it in his own house with the blinds open. So now my wife and I always leave our blinds drawn when we participate in at-home naturism!

By the way, this was supposed to be viewed with some degree of humor!

Guys,

Don't mean to appear ignorant, which I am.

What exactly is a naturalist.

Thanks on curing my ignorance in advance.

Mike a naturist another word for nudist. There might be some differences and pardon my ignorance if there are but pretty much, they like to live life naked. Naturists are usually respectful of the laws and only are naked in homes and on designated beaches and camps.

Naturism is another term for nudism. It's a slightly broader term I believe.

but its like naked and nude, a naturist is naked, a nudist is nude, i think, it's a difference in perception of some kind i cant recall. i wouldnt do that kind of thing, its strange, but everybody likes different things so no offence meant.

Wow, I had no clue Ansel Adams was naked all the while he was taking all those famous nature photographs of Yosemite Valley! He must have been pretty cold during those winter pics.
Who da thunked??

This might be the place, but I am not certain. It has been 18 years since I left that job.

In that case I am not a naturist. Before the weather turned cold I would sometimes roll out of bed and bring up MS before dressing. Does that make me a naturist? Anyway it is apparently for broads.

Dave,

Wouldn't skydriving nude beat the hell out of your private parts.
And sking nude,I wouldn't even want to think about the frost bite.
Painful just imagining these two sports.
I don't think I am tough enough to be a naturist.

Even nude air hockey would be taking a bit of a chance, eh?

I saw it offered at some resort in Colorado.

I know, it's awful us joking like that.

Thanks Elad for puting-up with us.

Yes definitely! I consider myself a hobby naturalist, but I am not in any wise a naturist or nudist. I have to force myself, almost at gunpoint, to get unclothed long enough to take a shower.

well now that we have heard from dale on what he means, we no longer have to guess at what he means. grin

'naturist' seems to be a term interchangeable with nudism; at any rate, i googled the term, and came up with this:

Quote:
What is a naturism?
The International Naturist Federation describes naturism as: "a way of life in harmony with nature characterised by the practice of communal nudity, with the intention of encouraging self-respect, respect for others and for the environment".

i remember a few years back this subject coming up, but it would probably take hours to find it.

cool topic though. personally, the fewer clothes i have to wear the better. hell, i'd even shed my skin if i could.......

crazy

I think nudest must be the superlative degree of nude: nude, nuder, nudest.

There is a book named: The Curious Naturalist.

This is a joke I learned in 3rd grade:

Q. Why was the midget kicked out of the nudest colony?

A. He kept sticking his nose in everybody's business.

Yes, there really was a Naked City Truckstop in Indiana, along with a topless donut shop in Colorado, and a Naturist hand car wash in Florida. Just thought that you guys should know.

Or kickball? Or paddleball?

My boyscout troop had permission to camp on a new site. It had a swimming pool. Word got around that it had previously been a nudist colony. Word also got around that the man that owned it had killed his wife there. Well, you know how rumers spread.

I'm wondering where this conversation was originally going...

I enjoy the occasional nude beach, but am not much of an indoor nudist. So, I guess I'm more a naturist than a nudist.

With people that I know, I'd be very comfortable. With total strangers, well, I think I'd feel a little threatened, but I'm glad to hear that it's been healing for you. Hey, whatever works.......
