I have recently been doing some research involving going back into user's previous posts from their profile page (including my own).

The site default seems to be 8 pages of previous posts available which in the case of some prolific posters
("the coyotes after you!") only encompasses a brief time.

I joined in Feb '08 & my previous posts by this method ends August 31.

Is this an internal setting that can be changed or...?
It makes it difficult & almost impossible to reference something said previously.

i understand your plight craig. i have written more in the last summer than i had in all 5 years i have been here, and cannot access those without rummaging through every single thread in every single forum! LOL

i was thinking about trying the 'watched topic' drop down to see how many pages would default for that.

it will be interesting to see what you hear about this.

I've discovered that using the search feature specifying a user's name allows you to extend the time frame. You can go back five years, and I don't think there's a page limit. More testing required, though...

No, still stuck with 8 pages. But there's a cheat. You can specify both "newer than" and "older than" ranges. So read 8 pages back, check the date of the oldest post, then do a search on the user name "older than" that date, and you'll get the next 8 pages.

This sounds like something that's specific to our software, but we are running an old program now and are due for major updates soon. We will announce the details as soon as we ourselves know.

With our current software version there is no way to increase the search results. I have already maxed out the limit, it is my hope that there will be new software defaults in the updated version.

My original question had more to do with the default for how many TOTAL posts I could chose to view from from user's page.

Example... I have 1000+ but can only access 8 pages or 200 posts period
(now ending September 3)

I went to UBB website
(I assume they are using their most current version)
I chose one of their admins from their "Who's Online"
From user "homepage" I can choose from over 100+ pages of their specific posts
(must be a distant cuz of the Roadrunner)

That helps if I am looking for something in reference to a topic
or a particularily supportive comment someone made

I also like being able to differentiate from "All posts" & "Topics Created" too.

Just glad that "whistling" emoticon isn't available as a mood because to use my bro mogigo's words it gives me the "Heebie Jeebies"
