So, it's a measly 1 degree in the plus right now. Maybe in a few hours it'll dip down again.
Thought it might be a time to post a few thoughts to this thread. First of all, you people and your aversion to cold weather. Do you know how much more difficult you're making cold weather for yourselves?
Try this on for size:
There is no bad weather. It's all just weather. Granted, there is weather that is more suited to specific occasions such as a sunshine festival or winter carnival. These however are nothing more than expectations of the weather that we ourselves impose and thereby set ourselves up for inevitable disappointment if we don't get exactly what we 'want'.
To further fuck with preconceived ideas of what "good" weather is; I'll continue: A long walk in the rain is truly fantastic. Driving during a snowstorm is amazingly fun.
Last but not least; let's say we're unable to toss out the "good weather/bad weather" weather-o-meter from our thinking. What would "good weather" be without the "bad weather"? Next thing you'd be judging the quality of sunny days versus other sunny days. It is my belief that people whom embrace weather variety live a healthier life than those whom choose (and yes, I do mean choose) to be grumpy or bitter when the weather isn't everything they wanted it to be.
I wonder what kinda shit this reply will stir... ~Bri

Hmmmmm. I need to take this away and think a bit. But hey, I think I could go for a place where all I could judge sunny days by would be other sunny days. Much love, Larry

Frost,
It was 76 degrees today and will be 38 tonight. Until last week it had been in the 90's and 100's in the day. Cold weather sucks! I love it here in So.Cal. Very little winter and rain.
Mike

A long walk in the rain is truly fantastic. Driving during a snowstorm is amazingly fun. I'll give you that, but... A bike trip to campus in a 20 mph headwind sucks. Skidding across the pavement on your chest because you hit a patch of black ice on the bike path, though entertaining to bystanders, is amazingly not fun. LOL... I used to love winter, but these old bones just can't take the cold weather anymore. And besides, we don't get snow like we used to. My hometown had three snowmobile dealerships when I was growing up and an annual winter motorcycle and snowmobile ice racing tournament on the lake. Now, no dealerships within 60 miles, the lake doesn't freeze over anymore and the ski resort can only open if it gets cold enough to make snow. So, if the only thing I'm going to get out of winter is cold and wind with no snow, what's the use?

As we say in New England: "Don't like the weather? Wait 5 minutes, it'll change..." Also, digging your car out, and shoveling in general, sucks.

Snowmobile racing is back, Michael!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtKW-ZpqMIQJust a little bit north of Ohio, though. Loveland Ski Area may be open next weekend here!!! It has snowed there all weekend on top of their snowmaking last week. Just a little bit west of Ohio, though. 32F=0C. -40F=-40C. What gives, eh??? Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. I would drive my pickup if it was icy out. Now that gas is down to $2.95/gallon. Have fun this Winter, Mark
