Maybe you all have your songs that express what you feel when you just can't seem to get the words out. I hope you'll share what gets you through.

My cousin plays it for me when I'm scared and I talk to her on the phone...she plays it off her computer..I love it. I could have it on cd or something but it's so much more special when she plays it for me.

Wow Nyjah. I hadn't heard that song before. It's really nice and I can see why it helps you to hear it.

Much love,
Larry

It's funny, whenever I'm sad or angry or whatever, I have to listen to music that matches my mood. I've found it's a much more effective way to vent. That said, I won't name specifics, but here are the names of a few bands that are worth checking out for sure.

Opeth

Evergrey

and just because this guys music is so chilled out and so awesome

Andy McKee. Listen to Ebon Coast and Rylynn especially if you check him out on youtube. All his stuff is equally as amazing as those two songs though.

Yeah,

I can totally relate to being a mood matcher.

It's old news, that I (Rightly relate) ,and have memorized every word in the rock opera "Tommy" (The Who).

How about...???, Trick or Treat (The motion picture soundtrack).

House of Pain (Faster Pussycat)...Mouthharp Supreme...!!!

island

p.s. One of these days, I hope to figure out how to put a link on my post.

Wow, I've been hiding (surviving) in music since I was 13 (47 now). My list would be WAY too long for here.

It's also dependent on my mood. Do I feel like crying? Play some old Elton John (Good Bye Yellow Brick Road).

Do I need to feel hopeful? Play Yes's Close to the Edge or Starship Trooper (just heard an excellent live version on Sirius Deep Tracks driving here).

Want inspiration to stop my addictions? Play SRV's Wall of Denial (see my sig) or Tightrope.

Almost an infinite set of choices...

Jim

I remember an old Kansas song that helped me through many rough days/nights. I was a 15 yo "hard rocker" listening to this song about growing old. lol. The music is excellent too if you like Prog Rock. Here are the lyrics:

Kansas Incomudro - Hymn To The Atman lyrics
(Kerry Livgren)

Run a silent path to nowhere, everything is all
You could have a pleasant life if Summer had no Fall
Treat yourself so gently though the task is often hard
Man is not a God it seems, who holds the final card

Close your eyes and feel the darkness, speak and hear the sound,
We only catch a glimpse of all the life that is around,
The man is not alive who knows the value of his soul,
And when our lives are pulled away, there's more to fill the hole

I wonder what you'd think if all the changes didn't come,
For growing old is only going back to where you're from

Far beyond our senseless thoughts there lies a core of gold
Where essence of the newborn child is waiting in the old,
The Master Plan is well conceived, it's there for all to see
And each day that is spent in thought is living harmony

Reach into the depths of being, pass beyond the years,
Time is lost in stillness, where there are no hopes and fears,
Linger in the void, and like a beacon in the night
Purity will fill your soul with ever-present light

Everything you've seen is waiting patiently within
For growing old is only going back to where you've been

The most beautiful woman in the world with the most beautiful voice in the world. She said it's about her miscarriages. To me, it's about saying goodbye to, but never forgetting, the boy I was.
