Maybe this belongs in the books and music forum, I am not sure.

Does anyone have any recommendations on any books that anyone has read about explaining to family what I am feeling and going through.

I have been in a lot of pain lately and I think my mom feels worried cause she does know how to help me or respond in the best way. Maybe I am sticking up for her too much. I have told her about the quantity of nightmares that i have been having and that I am not intentionally try to fuck up my life by feeling depressed and having trough with daily routines, like going to work a staying focus at work.

Significant others, Friends, and Siblings, or anyone for that matter is there any literature that helped you and helped your partner, brother or friend?

I am looking for a book that is specifically for freinds and family of survivors.

Thanx,
Logan

Hey Logan,

I know that I'm the guy that ragged on the recent article in O Magasine, but in as much as it concerns the wives of male CSA survivors it is an excellent read. Go to oprah.com for the october issue. There are many interesting links to articles that are connexe to main one and are quite insightfull.

Joel

and to rest, I still stand by what I posted

Hey Logan,

The Chapter for Family and Friends in Mike Lew's Victim's No Longer really helped!

And the early chapters of Browne and Browne's If the Mal You Love Was Abused explain a great deal.

Hi Logan, Mike Lew's Victim's No Longer and Mic Hunter's Abused Boys are two excellent books for both the survivor, the family and partners. Allies in Healing and If the Man you Love was Abused are also excellent, but are geared more toward a partner than a family member. I haven't looked for specifics, but in addition to these four, our Book Store has many titles that may be helpful too.

Helping your Mom to help you as well as herself is a really nice thing to do Logan. I wish you well.

ROCK ON........Trish
