Solve the perplex labyrinth
That lay buried in the unreachable victim.
Breach the ledge and
Feel that ever so slight moment of freedom.
Embrace the singular solitude which,
Until now, has been vicariously
Lived through the envied.
Arm extended to grasp all of nothing,
But air, then hearing the wisp
By the drums and forces surrounding
The back admit defeat, but meddles
With the thought of the sorrow
Ceasing to have ever begun
So long ago.
Misunderstanding the struggle was
The first mistake of this venture

ahhh, awesome poem. it lingers in the air after reading.

readers, read it out loud and taste the true depth of its beauty.

that 'ever so slight moment of freedom' will return again to push its limits and eventually become the larger moment of your life.

hold your applause.....the encore will be simply delightful.

There's so much in your poem. Like Ron says, it lingers. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Much love,

Nobody living can ever stop me
As I go walking my freedom highway.
Nobody living can make me turn back:
This land was made for you and me.
(Woody Guthrie)

Misunderstanding the struggle was
The first mistake of this venture...

This is the mistake every survivor makes in blaming themselves for thinking or feeling something as a result of their CSA. I wish every survivor could really "hear" this message early in their recovery... and every abused child could understand this message before they begin.

Thank you so much for your words and thoughts. A beautiful poem.
