When standing in my room at Alta I looked up to a number of mountains that were used as a ski hill in the winter.
On Saturday afternoon, standing atop a mountain 11,500 feet above sea level really provided alternative perspective on those very mountains that I looked up to from my room. Instead I was on a mountain that was taller than the others. Those mountains in that moment looked smaller and more manageable from above.
Being at the WoR this past weekend gave me a different perspective on many of my issues. Now that I'm back in "my life" I'm facing those issues from the base and looking up to them... and I am finding that glimpse I got as a source of strength which is keeping me from getting overwhelmed at these things that are staring down at me.
Perspective is so important when dealing with survivor issues.
