The Websleuths blog is reporting that Steve Wagstaffe, who is the boss of San Mateo prosecutor Melissa Mckowan, told a San Francisco Chronicle reporter that an internal investigation is underway on her actions in the Ayres case.

Surprise, surprise: Ayres' lawyer asks for another delay - this time for the jury trial in the mental competency issue. Doctors have already found him to be competent, but now his lawyer wants a jury trial. And he's obviously trying to run out the clock.

This all could have been avoided had the San Mateo District Attorney's office done a competent job on the first trial. But they lost it, due to lack of preparation and the failure to look into Ayres' training.

And now Ayres is laughing at them - just winning delay after delay. The DA sure hasn't put up much of a fight with these delays. It's like they don't want to win, and don't care.

Yesterday, a mother of an Ayres victim called Karen Guidotti, the immediate superior of prosecutor Melissa Mckowan - the prosecutor on the Ayres case. The mother of the victim told Guidotti that the parents of the Ayres victims wanted to meet with Guidotti (without the presence of Mckowan) to express their "concerns" about Mckowan's handling of the Ayres case.

The mother of the victim reports that Guidotti "exploded" at the mother, and asked if the meeting had something to do with the complaints that reporter Victoria Balfour had been bombarding the DA's office with. The mother was very taken aback by Guidotti's outburst.

At this point, the people who should be doing the exploding are the parents of the victims and the victims at the incompetent San Mateo District Attorney's office.

A commenter on the William Ayres blog just had a good suggestion re: Ayres' lawyer asking for a new delay:

The trade off for another delay would be to raise and OR revoke his bail.

These are the options. Any way to relay that information to the courts?

If he keeps asking for exceptions and freedom the other side should ask for something too.

It's time to quit giving to ayres and take some things aways - like his freedom and money - more bail, or revoke it.

This is just one of five current civil molestation suits against Ayres going on now. Ayres settled another molestation civil suit filed by a victim in July 2005. The victim received $395,000.

Newsflash: Ayres' lawyer just got the trial date for Ayres' mental competency delayed. It was supposed to be October 4 and now it is January 10.

Remember, folks. This is not even for the actual trial. It's a sham of a trial to determine Ayres' competency. Two doctors have already found him competent to stand trial.

Reports are that the prosecutor had no objection to the change of date. What is with that County?

You look at the Ohio case of Dr. Mark and Dr. Scott Blankenburg - arrested in March 2009 on 75 counts of child molestation, possession of child porn and bribery. One was convicted in OCTOBER 2009- just SEVEN months later. The other doctor made a plea deal in December.

San Mateo County is truly pathetic.

You really have to wonder. And then if one of the victims has had enough and deals out some justice, they will be all over it.

Bernie Ward [Talk radio show host] (using the same lawyer ayres used in the first trial) was reported, charged, tried, convicted, and has already served some time for his crimes, and ALL AFTER ayres was arrested and BEFORE the biginning of ayres' first trial.

I guess ayres wasn't just whacking off in his OWN pants pockets. Wonder how many different ways he's "satisfied" all of the local politicians, doctors, and judges?
