I saw this on the news and it made the kid in me jump up and down. It's Nasgrass - lawn mower racing. The news report said that they tweek them up so that some of them can do 80 mph.

I think I need to go tinker with my riding lawnmower some. I can pop a wheelie on it by popping the clutch, but I think there's more potential there.

Please, tell me that they remove the blades first.

Kind of reminds me of swamp buggy racing or another favorite where they use high-performance powerboats in a timed event through a series of narrow channels, kind of like a maze. It is always riveting when one of the boats or buggies misses a curve which happens fairly frequently. There is also tiny go-cart racing where they hit fairly high speeds too. Up near Johnstown, CO there used to be an outfit that had a racetrack and would rent you a high-performance go-cart that would hit 60 to 70 mph. Talk about taking your life in your hands. You ever watch snowmobile racing? High performance garden tractors sound like the same crowd to me.
