Hey, little man, time to rest
You can stop running now
The monsters are dead and gone forever
They are ghosts in your head, now long gone

You have been running so long and so hard
You forgot what it was to stop and breathe
Running away to save yourself, so terrifed were you
Did you forget what it was like to smile and laugh?

You can stop running now, because I am here
With me you are safe and no need to run
I will listen to you cry and hold you tight
Until the tears are finally stilled

Hey, little man, time to rest
No one can harm you with me to protect
You can stop running now, and lay down your fear
Because I won't leave, I am finally here.

It's great to see you posting again in the poetry Forum. I really like your perspective on the inner child. You are listening to him, but at the same time you are in charge and telling him you will take him by the hand and show him the way. Very nice! Thanks for sharing this with us.

Much love,
Larry

Ron,

Your post reminds me of the memorable passage in Alice in Wonderland (or Through the Looking Glass) in which she and the queen run at full speed and then stop. Alice sees they are in the same place, and the queen tells her "Sometimes you have to run at top speed just to remain where you are." \:\)

Much love,
Larry
