Mark,
Your poems always with come with some powerful visual image - at least for me they do. The image here is of the happy safe place .. with no children in it. So I wonder why there are no children there. Have they just not found this place yet? Or do they not trust it?

That makes sense. Right now a safe place with people in it doesn't sound all that safe. But just the idea that a safe place can exist is a good start. Allowing others into it can happen when you're ready. Those who are really safe and true friends will understand.
