There is a place I like to go
        When the pace of this life
                Becomes too hectic
        Or the stress
                Too heavy

A place with soft green grass
        Tall, broad trees
        Casting cool shadows from the warm sun
A place where a stream
        Happily bubbles its way over smooth stones
                That glisten like diamonds in the light
Before the water swirls
        Into a clear, refreshing pool
                Beside a tall oak bearing the rope for swinging out over the water

Secure and peaceful
        My safe place offers relaxation
        And rest from the business of living

The only things missing
        Are people with which to share
        The glory and splendor of
                The playground in my mind

I'm THERE, bro! Warm soft breeze. Singing birds. Not crows though.
I think crows missed out on the singing lessons.lol Nah, crows are nice too.

I was thinking a soft, yet cool, almost crisp breeze. Must be one of those places where the surroundings shift to meet the requirements of those present.

Nice to have the company too.

Your poems always with come with some powerful visual image - at least for me they do. The image here is of the happy safe place .. with no children in it. So I wonder why there are no children there. Have they just not found this place yet? Or do they not trust it?

That makes sense. Right now a safe place with people in it doesn't sound all that safe. But just the idea that a safe place can exist is a good start. Allowing others into it can happen when you're ready. Those who are really safe and true friends will understand.
