Hey guys:
It is time for me to get ready for our trip. I've got to pack my case and my computer, and try to find a couple of documents. My wife and I are driving her dad and all of her folk's stuff back to Monroe, MI where he lived for the last 40 years. Both of her folks have moderate dementia and he has Alheimers, and he hasn't taken to Denver too well in his six months here. Plus live-in elder care is much less expensive there than it is here. We are leaving in the morning and will be gone through the weekend of the 19th-20th, though I will try to check-in at least a couple of times enroute.
My wife and I are spending a couple of nights out on Put-in-Bay, where we got engaged last summer. Put-in-Bay is a historic summer beach and yacht kind of place with a huge monument to Commodore Perry from the Battle of Lake Eire in 1812. (My apologies to our friends from the UK). Plus we have a night planned at the hotel at Ameristar in Council Bluffs (where I am an elite member). We get one night free and several more for $39 each month because I have played there before. And in August we are planning a trip to Pasadena, CA with a stopoff at the Suncoast Hotel in Summerlin, NV, which has also long been a favorite of ours.
Thanks for letting me get to know all of you guys on such a short notice, and thanks for all that you have helped me these last several weeks. I sure appreciate all of your caring help and support.
Mark

Have a good trip, Mark, and do try to make some time to do some interesting things along the way. Let us know how it all goes.

Take care Mark. Take some time to enjoy things along the way if you can, and I look forward to hearing from you when you return.
Much love, Larry

I used to be one of "those maniacs". You think that a car is hard there try 80,000 lbs which is about as manueverable as a battleship. Have you heard of defensive driving? Around Chicago or the East Coast has always been a game of give and take in the monster truck. Just remember, it takes between 3 and 4 times as long to stop as your car, and often the driver has little spare time to stay on someone's tight schedule.
You ever try the Skyway? Of course, then you have to go through downtown Chicago, a place that I know all too well.
Thanks and talk to you later.
