Well.... a couple of weeks ago I quit my job (took one heck of a risk doing that). It was a move I needed to make because I was losing myself and I was becoming extremely impatient and angry at everything in my day.

So this week, I really started to hit the streets looking for work on my own as a massage therapist. Most of the time, I have been shaking in my shoes to go meet people and talk to them, trying to line stuff up. This is not easy for me by any means. That is sad because at one time in my life, I had no fear about talking to anyone. So this is a part of me that I want back.

But this week, I have had so many things come through that are either actual income or a potential for income. Things I never thought could happen are coming out of the blue. Of course some them will have me dealing with fears that I have, but they will be a growing experience. If this keeps going like I want it to go, than the decision to leave my job will not be as scary as it is right now. This is very encouraging for me.

To help counter the fears that I have, I have been keeping a success list and writing down every good thing that I am doing or that has come around. It does help because all I have to do is read through this list and the fears begin to subside a little.

So yes, things have gone well this week, the fears are still raging and I am sure they will do that for some time, but I can't help but look at the week and just smile!

Hey, Don, just wishing you well.

Hummmmmm, what is that, counting your blessings?

Sometimes that can be a good thing. I know that I have spent my share of time thinking of all the crap that has come my way.

How novel. Write down all the good things? Why not, I'll give that a try. I need a change of attitude these days.

I'll check back with you and let you know how that works for me.

And, oh ya, keep us posted on your job search.
I've got my wish going for you to find the perfect job. You know, the one that lets you pick your own hours and clients in the best atmosphere. OK?

David

Thanks David... and I will be curious to hear how this idea works for you and any others. It does sustain me.

One thing I have been doing is writing a short encouragement and inspirational message for a yahoo groups that I host. And believe me, some days it is very tough to write for this, but I am forcing myself to do this. That way, I am making my mind focus on the good of my day and not always on the bad (which I usually tend to do).

If anyone is interested, the yahoo groups is at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Encouragement_and_Inspiration/

But for now, I have to keep reminding myself that there is more than the swamp I wade through.

Get a good strong fire hose for those raging fears. Nothing like a dose of cold water to put em out. ;\)

You seem to be living your signature line, and THAT'S a good thing! \:D

Keep at it, bro, and always keep going!

ALWAYS!

And if you were closer, I'd have you look at my back, because I could use a good massage therapist. You DO give discounts for the brothers here, right? \:D (I can't help it. I'm cheap!)

Peace, love, and good karma!

Mike,
Ordering one mega fire truck with super mega sized fire hose!

Scot,
If anyone was around where I lived, there would be a discount. My hope is to one day focus on survivors and massage.

I just can't believe this week. I just got off the phone with someone else that I had contacted last week and have another chairty event set up. Everything I have touched this week has blossomed. I have never experienced this in my entire life!

I'm still in shock!
