i have a question. and i already have an appointment with my doctor for testing, but does anyone else agree that it sounds like i have diabetes? Symptoms: hands shaking, fatigue, excessive urination, constant thirst. i have looked it up and that's all i can come up with.

Could be lots of things, and those are some of the symptoms
of diabetes, a simple blood test will tell ya tho.
Don't know about in the US, but over here you can go to
the pharmacy and ask for a blood glucose test, it won't
tell if your diabetic, but it will tell you if your blood sugar is too high.

Don't fret tho ... the Dr will sort ya out

Arron is right about the test. Philip you can get it checked easy probagly at a pharmacy. It sounds like you may have low blood sugar. Drink some orange juice. If you feel better then I would carry some hard candy with you till you can see the Dr.

This sounds correct. ie diabetes mellitus.

It would also explain the spots on your hands.

It could be serious at that point. Please get it checked as soon as possible.

Under the wrong conditions treating it by eating candy could throw you into shock

The original home test for this is to put a small jar of your urine out where bees could get to it. If bees are attracted to your urine then its a positive test.

Also, if these symptoms have been going a for a week or more. Get to the doctor's office. My son had these for a week and when we took him to the doctor's, they sent to the hositpal to be admitted.

Be sure. Go get checked.

Dude, you're awful young to be getting THAT. I would like to know what the doctor has to say. I hope it's good news.

I had been having feeling shakyness and some dizzyness, and heart pounding fast sometime, for last several weeks, and had some blood tests done last week. One that they done to check for diabetes, it is blood test that can tell if you been having the high blood sugars over last three or four months. Because I guess a high blood sugar just once, it can be for other reasons then diabetes. I hope whatever news you get, it is good and something easy to treat.

i have been shaking since i can remember. but i always wrote it off, cause i am a laid back person. but when my 3 year old nephew looks up at me worried and says, philip, you're shaking really bad! are you okay?! then we have a problem!!!! so i decided to get looked at. i will let everyone know though. cause diabetes does run in my family. BIG TIME!!!!

not yet. i am waiting for them to call me back. but i am. they said the closest appointment i could get was july 21st. but i am going even if i have to wait that long. reason i am waiting, i am kind of partial to my doctor. he knows about my abuse and he also specializes in diabetes and lipid disorders. thank you for the concern. i will keep everyone posted.

You have to wait 1 1/2 MONTHS for a damned appointment?

yeah.....i think they're calibrating in that this isn't like a dying emergency and so they are leaving some open slots for in case some other people need them. cause i told them i wasn't in a hurry but i did want to know. but again, i don't know what their reasoning is.

most docotors have that much of a wait time. that's really not uncommon. dentist is the same way.

yeah. even if this was uncommon, it's like i said, i am so comfortable with my doctor it's unreal. so i won't go anywhere else. he has gone out of his way to make sure i am taken care of, like calling me after i saw my cardiologist and neurologist. i had told him in nonchalant conversation i had appointments. so he called me like an hour after my appointment to see what they said and all. he has really taken care of me so i can't complain.

okay everyone.....you'll be pleased to know, that i was able to get an appointment for this wednesday at 3:15 pm...EST.....with a different doctor though. mine is moving to Pennsylvania.

okay, so i had my appointment yesterday, and i is deafinitely not diabetes. but now they are quite clueless as to what it could be. but i have another appointment today at 3 and another one on july 21st. i will keep everyone updated.

so the appointment today was with a urologist. having never been to one i didn't know what to expect. so all the sudden he says pull down your pants and underwear. i can handle that. then after the "frontal" test, he said, turn around and bend over. believe it or not, i was fine!!! it didn't bother me a bit, besides the initial shock. so yeah, all is fine there, and i have a few other doctors appointments and a few others still yet to be scheduled. we'll see how everything goes.

just got a call from my doctor. yesterday, when they did a urine test on me, apparently they found that i had a high count of protein and bilirubin in my urine. so now i have o go pick up a 24 hour urine test and then go from ther. still have many other appointments and tests to have done. but we'll get that taken care of.
