I know a few here have mentioned having a chess passion or at least like to play chess.

Perhaps through one of the many online chess sites we all could get some games goin?

Haven't played long distance chess for AGES. A good friend and I used to. Guess when he died I just .. stopped.

If you can set it up, I would sure try it. I never played long distance chess before, it takes such a long time before someone wins, and i like to win very much and very fast

i like playing on a real board, and i havent played for years, i used to play with my dad, he taught me when i was little, we don't do timing or anything, he is really good, i think i am pretty good too but i havent played for so long. i don't want to play on-line though.

I know what you mean king tut, i prefer playing in the real too, that's why i'm in a chess club, but since we are all from an other place in this world, it's the only possible option open.

Ah, a chess club, they are not so popular these days, unless your really really good, i have a feeling that means your pretty good.

I'm out of practice now, glad you pulled this thread back up though, i might try to get my dad to play chess with me, it's an idea, thanks for the reminder.

Sorry! I got so busy and messed up and screwed up inthe head etc I forgot all about this!!

I gotta do some reasearch about online chess programs that are also free.

So the next question is, do we want one that is real-time, like you play a game in real time but over the net, or one that registers a move and you can log back in later to see if your opponent has been online and made a move?

hmm, i know i said i probably wont be the one to be playing, but i think if it is not real time then that will be quite agonising, or, on the other hand, it could be quite reflective, i don't know, chess is one of those things that engraves itself in your mind, after playing chess i always dream about playing chess
