Hey all,
On Tuesday my wife and I will be on KUOW 94.9 FM, speaking about our personal experiences with abuse and advocacy. I will focus my comments on male survivorship and the need for more resources and acceptance for male survivors in our society. The show is called Sound Focus and the details are below.

If you have any advice or issues you think need to be addressed, let me know and I will try my best to get it in. Otherwise, I hope you get a chance to catch it on Tuesday. Cheers.

WSO on NPR: Join Dave Beck, Megan Sukys and Jeannie Yandel for engaging interviews with local people who define the Northwest character. National guests join the conversation to share ideas that can change the way we look at life around the Puget Sound. Airs at 2:20pm

I'd really slam-home the fact that men and boys have little to no support and healing services available to them through public or private means.

It would be good to bust some of the myths as well (they can be found on the MS home page here: http://www.malesurvivor.org/education.html ).

Absolutely - it would be great to bust some of those tenacious myths!

I plan on talking about some of the myths most definitely. Lack of resources as well. The show is a little>

This is a reminder to everyone that WSO will be appearing on National Public Radio TODAY, April 29th (ReportIT day). We taped the NPR segment yesterday and it went really well. Megan was a great host and made us both feel really comfortable.

Our segment airs today at 2:20pm at 94.9 KUOW. You can listen on the internet live at:

http://www.kuow.org/listen/listen_live.asp

Get the podcast here after the show:

We hope you can listen in and spread the word about the show. Thanks NPR for having us. We appreciate the chance to speak about abuse in our community and what we can do about it!

Let Megan know that you appreciate her having us on the show and for bringing the issue of abuse and community advocacy to the forefront.
Email: msukys@kuow.org

THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO!!
