Mmmm, $35,000,000 mil huh? That would mean I could have a totally fun room or two or 10. OMG, the possibilities are endless but the first thing I thought of is a roaring twenties room complete with costumes and hats covering all the walls. You would not be allowed to be a guest in that room without being decked out like a gangster and his favor moll or a flapper out for a night on the town! The jazz music would turn on as soon as someone crossed the threshold so there would always be music.

We'd be able to manufacture our own "bathtub gin" in the corner which would be served up in jelly jars on the huge oak bar. The room would be so big and I'd obviously be so rich, that I could have perfectly restored Cadillac touring sedan in the back of the room near monstrous garage doors so we could take it out for a spin around the estate at a moment's notice. Oh, and the room would be purple - every different shade of purple in the world would be in that room accented only by some strategically placed whites and reds and the rich woods of the bar, the trim and the dance floor.

Oh what fun we'd have!

Next.... I huge, massive, video game room. Every game systems known to man. The entire wall of one room will be a huge tv screen. Awesome surround sound for those truly emmersive game experiences!!

We're building a new shower addition at home; 5x6 feet, 5 shower heads and a vaulted ceiling with windows up top; speakers lighting and ventilation built in; all tile with a waterfall down the back wall... It's gonna be soo nice. And it's only $3.5k, not $35M... hehehe

My $35,000,000 mansion would have a tree fort in a giant Sequoia. And I'd have dancing Romulan females, if my wife would let me, and people in Ferengi costumes behind the bar, which serves fruit juices, Diet Pepsi, free cigarettes, and bacon-wrapped scallops.

I'd have a Hot Wheels track set up, probably a mile or so, twisting around the garage, with superchargers.

That's about it. And a load of fast cars. Like the one in 'I Robot'. So cool.

If you every have a chance and a really fast car, try Ark Hwk 7 from El Dorado all the way to Harrison. Lovely drive! Not much traffic. Loooong stretches of beautiful banked curves and steep hills. Just got back from doing that route for the first time in almost 30 years and it has only gotten better. I was driving a Honda this time (last time was in a GMC pickup truck with a 35 ft 5th wheel camper in tow); I can only imagine it in a Porsche.

Craig, everything gets recycled, not necessarily directly into that scooter fuel you were needing, but soon. Did I tell you that Kira had a food fight during her 15th birthday party? It was all planned; pudding pastries with whipped cream, a huge sheet cake, disposable poncho's and cheap swim goggles... They had a blast and smelled like sour milk for days afterwards! LOL

How about if I design the Media Room? Seating for 12 good enough? How about slider/rockers in black leather and a couple of couches? Internet and intranet access at every seat. Don't worry, it'll be soundproof. Bose surround sound with Klipsch horns for base. Fully digital (past the VCR, anyway...) and a 120 inch digital projection system. The kitchenette/bar is in the rear corner, next to the popcorn machine. In the event of a big party, the long wall opens up to the outside patio.

Oh, and whomever is keeping notes, please add electrical outlets under the eaves of the house, for Christmas (or other) decorations. I'm amazed that more expensive houses don't include this cheap enhancement.

I love the fire room too. I got my butt blistered with a belt so many times for playing wtih matches and lighting fires. I was a little pyro when I was 11.

we have to have a games-workshop adjacent, so that we can assemble and paint soldiers too, and make realistic terrain and things like that, and it will have to be pretty close to the war-room

I have not look through all the rooms yet, but I will.

If there is to be a room in this house that I design, it would be a studio. There would be endless supplies of paints and brushes, pens, pencils, canvases, drawing paper, light, easels. And of course, also room to print out photographs for other kind of art; a corner with comfortable desk and chairs and computers or paper and pens for the authors; and a music area, for the musical artists. There have to be rooms for art, of all kinds!

you talk about a design studio, but can we also have a place where we can just throw buckets of paint at the wall, so we can have some really emotional art, get rid of all that emotional frustration and then break down for a good cry and go to sleep in your own art, i would really like that, just go wild, jump about like crazy, scream and shout (the room would have to be sound proof) jump against the walls, tire your self out, and then just calmly stroll out afterwards completely covered in paint pretending like nothing happened. I would quite like to do that in a very expensive suit, somehow that would make it more fun, and i would like to be able to rip all the buttons off the shirt, i've never done that before. I tried to quit my job today, didn't really plan to, but just went with the flow, i didn't plan to, but she was talking about hours and before i realised it i said "i have to talk to you about that" and didn't even know what i wanted to say, but it seems i talked too much and somewhere i lost the point, i couldn't stop myself from pacing about, don't even remember what i was talking about, i did say i was quitting, the conversation ended somewhere near the point where she said "you've run out of things to say now havent you?" i told her "no" i could have talked all day probably, but then forgot what i was talking about, for some reason i was nervous and at some point she said don't be nervous because your making me nervous, somehow i ended up with more hours to work (?). i think i just wanted to do something unplanned and unexpected. I can't believe i actually failed at quitting my job, maybe i'll try again tomorrow. i think we should have an "unexpected" room, where the contents change all the time, that would be really good too. I think we should have a room where there is a machine on a loop that just says "yeh, uhu", "that's interesting", "how do you feel about that?", i could sit in a room like that all day probably because if i just don't stop talking, or typing, then it is just easy. I think i'm just lucky that i am going to be really busy with my exams now, keeps my mind somewhere else. Sorry i've been jumping back and forth into different sections writing posts and deleting them and so although i know this is the mansion thread, this is a really good place to write, and i have made some room suggestions too.

An animal room, that is like a full zoo, all together. It will have walls that open out, of course, like the moat of a castle, so that there will not be such the smell in it! All glass windows when it is closed. A full zoo, and aviery, as well as area for domestic pets also. (And in the corner, an electric fence area for the male baboon that attack me at the zoo yesterday. That is cruel of course, but I have not yet forgive and forget that).

Yikes, how did I miss this one? Well, one of my rooms would definitely be a music room with rows of old Martin, Gibson and National guitars in different tunings. There would be posters of old blues gigs on the walls, and I would have bookcases with the old 78 rpm recordings of the great ones and lots of photographs. There would be a fireplace, and over it would be a photo of my hero, Son House.

But I would also have another room to just relax in, with flowing water and a jacuzzi, cool lighting, and lots of interesting paintings by unknown artists.

But mainly I think I would want to visit Trish and hang out in her Gangster Room!
