Games we Like to Play,
Each and Every Day.
Puzzles, Boards, Video are all really fun,
So lets list those things to which we like to run!

Ok, so it's a stinky little poem. I was trying, but didn't succeed, so now here's my list for you to read.

;\)

Video Games I'm currently Playing:
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii) (There is nothing better than sitting down with the son and the wife and smashing the living daylights out of each other!)
Metroid Prime 3 (Wii)

Bioshock (PC)
Warhammer 40k: SoulStorm (PC)
Unreal Tournament 3 (PC)

Gots lots of others I dig out now and again, but that's my active list! \:\)

Board Games I like:
Settlers of Catan
Risk (LoTR Edition)
Scrabble (Don't tell my wife, I really have actually enjoyed playing this formerly most hated game!!!)

Puzzles I like:
Rubik's Cube. All variety's (2x2, 3x3, 4x4, 5x5)
Any kind of manipulation puzzles. They just rock!
Sudoku
Kakuro (Although I haven't yet fully wrapped my mind around it to be good at it yet.)

So, there's my short list. Anyone else have some favorites?

I love strategy and war games, and most games having to do with WWII combat.

But what got me started on THIS slant of interest was the board game "Axis and Allies". I would play this with two two different friends for hours and hours and hours. God it was FUN.

To win this complex strategy game, you must learn to be a master economist and a brilliant military strategist and tactician."

I've never played Axis and Allies, as I never had that much time. Back when I was a kid and had boatloads of time, I never had the friends around to play with who would have had even a similar interest. I really got into Risk in college, and as long as I was careful and smart, I could usually win. I remember one night we started playing around 9PM or so, and around 5AM I finally wiped out the last guy and went to bed. Love strategy!

There are a few games I've seen that are strategy related that I intend to get so my son and I can play, when he's just a tad older and able to really get into it. He's getting fairly decent at chess.

Here is the one I have my eye on: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=2696990

Heh, maybe a bunch of us to find a weekend to meet all in one location and pull out these games and just spend the whole weekend being kids again :-)

OOOO Just remember a Card Game I love to play: Munchkin!!!!!
http://www.sjgames.com/munchkin/game/

Oh OH Oh OHOHOHO! There's new expansions OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GETTIN THOSE!!!!! YEEEHAWWW!!!!

Little Scooter is excited and going crazy!!!!!

I don't play any games anymore, my brothers still play with games-consoles, i was never really that into it. I used to like to play with toys.

Actually my room is more of an office now than anything but that was on purpose, i try to just stay focused on work, always drawing up action plans but never following them lol.

I do think my job will be quite fun though, i could even wear a white lab coat!

Ah D&D. I've never played D&D....... Although I've DM'd a crapload of games. Never could get one of the players to take a turn at running things. Ah well. Maybe some day ;-)

Course I loved creating things. Now that my writing seems to be developing more, maybe I should look back into it and see what I can come up with. I think the best games we had were the ones that I didn't plan anything. I simply made it up as I went and usually keyed off of things the players said as we played. Was awesome!!

Board games:

RISK
Axis and Allies
-- pretty much any military strategy game with little miniature figurines.
Monopoly
(I created a combination of RISK and Monopoly to reflect both military and economic warfare. Yes, I had a lot of free time as a child).
Chess (I'm not terribly good, but I still like it).

Computer games:
Civilization IV
Tropico
Axis & Allies

Never been much into cards.

Dan

I've DM'd alot too, had a friend who loved to DM so I got to play alot, he was a blessing looking back, hard to find a good DM. Lots of fond memories of D&D.

I learned early on that you don't talk about D&D with others who don't play lol. Kind of gives you that stigma lol.

Great game, I change my answer looking back, D&D trumps Monopoly anyday with the right DM.

Still got the original Dungeon Masters Guide, Players Handbook and Monster Manual. Wonder if their worth anything. Nothing peaked my imagination like a 20 sided die. I was hooked just looking at it lol.

Wonderful escape from my life. Could take on a whole new me with that game.

Not geeky, only the smart guys played D&D. Guess thats geeky eh lol.

Yes, usually it's the smart geeky guys who play D&D. Gotta have a really good imagination to really get into it!

Speaking of geeky, here's an awesome geeky website! http://www.thinkgeek.com/

I like bowling, scrabble and crosswords. I also like backgammon.
I nearly always loose at cards except for 'war' and 'blackjack.' I am going to a 'wii' party tomorrow, I heard I will probably like that.

I used to be hooked on a board game called Stratego. The problem was that I would get so into the game and would get so tense I eventually realized it wasn't good for me physically so I quit playing.

Now I like Poker, though I'm not so great at it, but at least I don't get all stressed out.
I still love Nintendo's Mario Brothers and can do quite well at it but don't play often enough to keep up my skills.

OMG yeah, Mike I LOVED D&D. I was also a DM while a Sgt in the Air Force on TDY to Egypt. We'd play every night for hours and hours. I wonder where my DM Guide and the rest of the holy trilogy of books are today? Haven't seen them in years, but I had them at one time...

We bought a Wii this past christmas and it is Too much fun! It's the most exercise some of us old guys get! LOL You CAN'T play it sitting down...

Wii would like to play...
