Has anyone watched "The Iron Giant"? Do you remember the part where the robot catches up to the boy (who's running away in fear) to show him that he now realizes that the boy saved his life, by showing him that broken electrical switch that turned off the power that I was killing him? I thought it was so cool to see the relationship that was developed between those two. An interesting sidenote to this movie, it's a high-quality animated film, and yet it's not a Disney or a Dreamworks production. You will also note that the VAST majority of reviewers give a 5 star rating. Not very many movies are viewed so favorably. http://www.amazon.com/Iron-Giant-Special...97010331&sr=8-1A partial quote from one reviewer: "I couldn't shut up after I saw it, and I walked outta that theater feeling like a happy little boy."

Alan,
I haven't seen or even heard about that one but it sure looks interesting. And so highly rated as well. I'll see if I can find that one over here - it would be a welcome break from the CSA films I'm working on for my book!
Much love, Larry

Alan, Better and better! I like those films about prehistoric times. A Coke cost 5 cents, going to the movies was great because you would get to see a film in color, doctors made house calls with black medical bags, it was a fun thing to sit with your friends and listen for Buddy Holly on the radio, and dress codes in school meant no one came to school in jeans or a T-shirt and all the girls wore dresses. Much love, Larry

All four National Lampoons with Chevy Chase.
"Like swimming naked with girls? Yeah! Like swimming naked with girls. Well, not with girls. You think I was swimming with girls? I saw just one girl. Who, that girl? Oh, no, that's a waitress. No, I was just ordering in. She's a pool waitress. I was ordering some fish for you, Audrey and Mom. She took your order? She took my order, yeah. Swimming waitress. You understand, don't you, Russ? Sure, I understand. Do you think Mom will buy it? Good talk, son. Go to bed, Russ."

Legend 1985 - Mia Sara, Tom Cruise, Tim Curry aka The Lord of Darkness. This is one of my favorites and the best of the fantasy movies. I think this movie was incredible for its time. The costumes ans set were pure art, and the plot a classic. What dreams may come 1998- Robin Williams. Real tear jerker with a happy ending, fascinating movie. History of the world - Mel Brooks - This movie never fails to make me laugh A Christmas Carol 1908 or 1938 - a classic There is also a animation one from the 70s that is good.

As far as a feel good movie that lifts me up when I watch it, I like "Places In The Heart". A beautiful movie about perseverence and redemption.
