OKay,

Here's an idea that was brought up in another thread.

Let's look forward to spring! It seems that winter and all the grey days affect our moods. So I am going to start a list of things I am looking forward to, when spring does get here.

19 Days Until The First Day Of Spring!

I look forward to:

*the spring bulbs popping up in my yard

*not filling the windsheild washer fluid every other day

*My car being clean for more than one day (I hate rock salt)

*Not wearing a heavy coat just to go pick up the daily paper from my yard

...

Ok, Now it's your turn...

What are you looking forward to?

Luv ya,
Carl

P.S. I will be back Daily to add to this and keep the countdown going.

Not wasting gas when I do my crossword in the morning

Sitting at the park bench instead of in my car when doing my crossword

not salting my front steps every 3 hours

not thinking I should quit smoking every two hours, okay I should still think that but on MY TERMS \:\)

Not feeling so housebound, yea I don't go out much but nice to have the option

not looking over and under the smear on my winshield

No more long-johns, woot woot.

Mike

Smell of the pine trees.

No heavy coats and gloves!

Is it here yet? We woke up to cold and blowing snow this morning! :-(

17 Days To Go

(and today we are under a winter storm watch... 6 to 10 inches of snow expected between now and Tuesday)

*The smell of freshly cut grass. (not that kind... \:D )...I won't cut it myself, but I do love the smell.

*The sounds of the birds in the morning, with my windows open.

*The sun warmed fresh air blowing in my face.

Ohhhhh.... I long for spring to arrive!

Luv ya,
Carl

It was a good day!

Wow Ricky. I'm impressed! Snapdragons are one of my favorite. So beautiful and you've got a fountain with it. I've got to come sit in my lawn chair and relax with you this summer beside it, eh?

Lots of love,

John

Snow is falling, but only 16 Days To Go...

Thanks Gate, you reminded me of...

*Coy ponds and fountains in the park

*The Missouri Botanical spring flower show (it's an awesome display)

*Sitting in the shade of a big tree, on a lawn chair, just relaxing

I hope it hurries up and gets here!

Luv ya,
Carl

Must be nice to not have 2 feet of snow on the ground in March. I can't plant anything until end of April.

What a cool idea. Okay, a few of mine:

barbecuing outside
no more muddy paw prints through the kitchen
going for walks over to the next village
playing slide guitar with friends on the common
planting herbs and flowers
watching neighbors mow their grass \:D
sitting with my wife out on the patio with our morning coffee

OKay...

This is an update...

I posted "day 16" about an hour and a half ago. It is now no longer snowing...

IT IS A BLIZZARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went out just before I made "Day 16" to get the newspaper, and now you can't even see the footprints I made. At the time there was about 3" on the ground. As I look out my window, considering leaving for work, I just can't get up the nerve to go out in this S@#T!!!

YEAH!!!!! Snow Day!!!!

But I do wish Spring would get here Soon!!!!!!!!!!!!

So now I'll be on most of the day, anyone want to join me for a "snow day play date"?

Luv ya all,
Carl

Looking outside, it's hard to think

Only 15 Days And Counting...

Official snow total was 10.4 inches, but we have a wide range of totals across the area. I am about to shovel almost 12 inches from my sidewalk.

So I am really looking forward to the first day of Spring...

*No more shoveling

*No more bundling up, just to go outside

Sorry, can't think of anything else while I am sitting here contemplating all the snow I am about to move off the sidewalk.

Come on... Add your thoughts ... just to cheer me up.

Suffering the winter blues this morning.

Luv ya,
Carl

OK Guys,

Zero Minus 14 And Still Counting!!!

I am also looking forward:

*Camping in the great outdoors again (a leftover from my scouting days)

*Campfires while camping out (spring is a great time to camp because the bugs haven't really taken over yet)

*being outside the city limits and laying back looking at all the stars in the sky

Luv ya,
Carl

P.S. So I want honest opinions here... Is this just a fools obsession? Should I let this thread die?

Did I mention I love gardening?

I want to be barefoot and feel the grass in the backyard;

I want to be barefoot and feel the sand at the beach; I want to be barefoot in my bathingsuit on a lounge chair at the beach with a cocktail that has a little umbrella in it..........Mmmm, I seem to be skipping Spring and jumping into summer......that's not right.

I want smell freshly turned dirt;
I can't wait to smell the rain coming in on a warm breeze;
watching the birds play in our birdbath

Ahhhhh, so many things to look forward to........

Yep....spring is in the air.

My BF and I spent the day at the local flea market. The sun was shining.....there was a little crispness in the air...but you could definitely feel and smell spring in the air.

We had a great time! He was in his height of glory....he got his turkey leg.....me my nachos......we shared a lot of fun and laughs.....the best part was afterwards....on our way home we stopped at the grocery store and when we came out we could not find our car in the parking lot! LOL!!!!!!!

Awe! It was so nice to get just even a small piece of what our old lives used to be like today.....I am more optimistic than ever that somehow....someway.....he is going to beat this aftermath of his CSA.

Perhaps with the coming of spring....and the renewal and rebirth as EGL above states....perhaps....perhaps....just maybe....it will be a time for his renewal and rebirth as well.....I will continue to support and pray for him as he moves forward so bravely! He so deserves it! :-)

Happy Spring!
