Depth of Pain
Woods, deep and dark, full and beautiful;
I stand in your fields, so alone and vulnerable;
Wolves stalk, so stealth and quiet;
While I stand, so alone and silent;
They attack with vigor and violence,
Ending my hope of faith, with pain and compliance;
You donít kill, but you tease and taunt,
While instead, Iím left to endure years of haunt;
The heard, walks away in fear and in confusion,
While I sit alone, and nurse my contusions;
And in the end, I seek the answers to why,
I was left alone to sit and cry;
And stare and feel the scars of pain,
While you all sit around and enjoy the day.
Walk a day in my shoes, and you will want to die. protect me from a day in my shoes, and i will be forever in your debt.
